TabHamster Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
TabHamster is a browser extension that saves groups of tabs and keeps your recent browser sessions. Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/tabhamster/mkfjjmjmnplabnplceaekkjcmdddokee
What TabHamster stores
- TabHamster stores only data closely related to its functionality: saved tab groups, settings, recent browser sessions (open and closed tabs and windows, and the pages each tab went through) and groups deleted in the last 30 days.
- Saved groups and settings are stored in chrome.storage.sync, which the browser syncs with your account if sync is turned on.
- A copy of the saved groups, the sessions and the recently deleted groups are stored in chrome.storage.local, on your computer only.
- A backup file is made only when you download or copy it, and stays where you put it.
What TabHamster sends
- TabHamster sends no data to its developer or anyone else. There is no analytics or tracking.
- One setting, off until you allow it, loads icons from sites: “Load missing icons from sites” (Settings > General). For a saved tab whose icon the browser doesn’t have, TabHamster requests the site’s icon file (for example https://example.com/favicon.ico). The site sees your IP address, as when you visit it. The address of the saved page is not sent.
